onlyyou: a portrait of the Other done in
front of a mirror; or our reflection in a landscape supposedly of the
Other.
onlyyou is a touring show changing its form and perspective along
its journey. The works, originally produced for Bildmuseet in Umeå,
Sweden, are transformed or excluded responding to each new place. Accordingly,
new work and new reflexions on the subject are also produced.
onlyyou - practices of a notion of place - the notion of place
is accented in this version. If we assume that an identitary construction
is an operation executed in a context: what happens when our places are
no longer where they used to be? All the way from "Country"
or "Motherland" as place, passing through cartography, horizon,
everyday life, painting and hospitality, the idea of place and of a "decentered
self" is revised.
onlyyou: un retrato del "otro"
hecho frente al espejo o nuestro reflejo en un paisaje supuestamente del
"otro".
onlyyou es una muestra itinerante que cambia de forma y perspectiva
durante su recorrido. Las piezas originalmente producidas para Bildmuseet
de Umeå, Suecia, son transformadas o excluídas de acuerdo
a cada nuevo lugar. En función de ello, se producen también
nuevas piezas y nuevas reflexiones sobre el tema.

esta versión se hace hincapié en la noción de lugar.
Si se asume que toda construcción identitaria es una operación
efectuada en un contexto: qué sucede cuando nuestros lugares ya
no están donde estaban? Desde la "Patria" como lugar
pasando por cartografía, horizonte, vida cotidiana, la pintura
y la hospitalidad, se revisa la idea de lugar y de un "yo descentrado".
